January, 2014 Process Update

1.       California Model Library Standards

2.       Sequence standards into 4 (6 for high school) periods/modules for each grade level

3.       For each period/module, add constant, what we need to teach students, and assessment

4.       Correlate CA Common Core Standards for ELA to our scope & sequence

5.       Develop themes per period/module for each grade level

6.       Prepare lesson lists for each grade level per period/module

7.       Develop staircases based upon specific skills, lesson flows to show integration and/or                       suggested approaches for lessons

7.       Develop lessons for each grade level to match the scope and sequence

8.       Create assessments to go with each lesson

9.       Provide nonfiction and fiction text exemplars per grade level to accompany the scope and sequence

10.     Make all documents accessible and searchable via School Site Libraries site
